Angelo Barbosa · information security for more than 25 years

In chess,
as in security,

Scroll

the winner is not the one
with the strongest pieces.

White has 20 possible moves. Black replies, and there are already 400 possible games.

It is the one who sees
more moves ahead.

After three moves each, there are more than 119 million possible games. Defending a company is the same game: anticipating what the adversary can do, before they do it.

Possible games after n plies (half-moves)

In the game of digital security, most companies play draughts while their adversaries play chess.

About me

99% of companies believe they are safe from cyberattacks. Yet I find vulnerabilities everywhere.

I don't promise impenetrable systems:
anyone who does is lying!
But I can make you a hard target.

I help business owners and professionals through the digital transformation of their companies, with data security at the centre. I begin with a thorough analysis of the infrastructure they already have and work towards tailored solutions built to last.

I don't look for flaws to break things, but to protect them. I don't sell fear: I sell solutions.

What I build

From 1999 to today

I have been protecting companies since 1999.
I have been building my own solutions
since 2006.

In 2006, with Mobile Office, company email and files moved onto the phone and out of the office, at a time when working on the move was not yet within everyone's reach. From there, one piece at a time, today's products were born: every need that keeps coming up, company after company, becomes a product with a single job.

That is what I do: sovereign Swiss technology for companies that want to take back control of their data.

Swiss data centres

The infrastructure is in Switzerland.

Your data, never on US clouds

No US provider, so neither the CLOUD Act nor FISA Section 702 applies.

FADP and GDPR

Data protection by default, not as an option.

Zero telemetry

No data flowing back to the vendor.

POWERB and POWERB SAGL are two separate entities, each with its own website. This is my personal site: it brings them together, it does not replace them.

The ecosystem in action

Every piece has its role
in the game.

If the products are the pieces, EvolutoS is the board: the sovereign server platform on which a whole company can play its game.

Coming to the board

Digital sovereignty

‘A company without control over its data is just a target with a VAT number.’

If your data sits with a US provider, US authorities can demand it under the CLOUD Act, wherever the servers are. With a Swiss provider that has no US parent company, and servers in Switzerland, Swiss law applies. Not ideology: jurisdiction.

The book ‘Sicurezza informatica per professionisti’ by Angelo Barbosa, front and back

Author

Sicurezza informatica per professionisti.

My book, in Italian: how to protect yourself from digital threats in the age of artificial intelligence. It introduces the 3V Method (Verify, Validate, controlled Velocity), which turns the human factor from the weakest link into the first line of defence.

Creator of KEYBOKY

No malware can infect ink on paper.

Back to the fundamentals of security: physical separation. Not an app, not a cloud password manager: a paper-based method that keeps passwords offline.

The strategy

Four principles

Every piece,
a defence.

  1. R

    Fortify the position

    Solid defence

I have seen too many companies with data scattered everywhere, exposed. The first move is always to consolidate and fortify.

  2. N

    Anticipate the adversary

    Active intelligence

Defending is not enough. You need to know what the adversary is preparing, and see their moves before they make them.

  3. B

    Diagonal control

    Peripheral vision

Threats do not only come head-on. You need systems that cover the blind spots and spot lateral movement.

  4. Q

    Distributed power

    Integrated ecosystem

As with the queen, real strength lies in versatility: an ecosystem that covers every corner of the board.

Frequently asked questions

What people
ask me
most often.

Who is Angelo Barbosa?

I am an ethical hacker with more than 25 years of experience in IT and information security. I protect companies and professionals from digital threats through tailored consultancy, security audits and training. I created KEYBOKY, an offline password management system, and wrote the book ‘Sicurezza informatica per professionisti’ (in Italian). My mission is to make the digital world safer for everyone.

What does being an ethical hacker mean?

It means using advanced security skills to find and fix vulnerabilities before criminals can exploit them. I always work with explicit authorisation, within strict ethical and legal rules. My goal is to strengthen digital defences, not to break them.

Why did you choose this path?

Because I believe security is a right, not a privilege. After seeing too many systems fail and too many companies suffer serious damage for lack of proper protection, I decided to dedicate my work to preventing that. My passion for computing, together with the wish to protect people and businesses, is what drew me to security in the first place.

What services does Angelo Barbosa offer?

I offer information security consultancy through POWERB, my firm, and free do-it-yourself tools, which you will find on the ‘Free resources’ page. I created KEYBOKY, a paper-based method for managing passwords. With my book I want to build real awareness, not the kind of fear that pushes people to buy devices that end up badly configured, creating a false sense of security.

What is KEYBOKY and how does it work?

KEYBOKY is a fully offline password management system that I created after 25 years in the field. It uses a paper-based method that combines mathematical randomness with physical separation: the credentials are not on any device, so malware or a remote attack has nothing to steal. It is not an app or a cloud service: it is an analogue system for people who want strong security without depending on digital technology.

How can I start protecting my company?

The first step is understanding your weak points. You can start with my free resources for a self-assessment. Remember: security is not a product you buy, but a process you build with awareness and the right tools.

Where do I start with your products?

Start with the free tools on the ‘Free resources’ page: in a few minutes you can see where you are exposed. Then pick the most urgent problem: if it is passwords, start with KEYBOKY; if it is knowing whether you are being targeted, start with CYBETOWER. Each product works on its own: you add the others when you need them.

Why does Switzerland matter for data security?

Because what matters is who holds your data, not only where it is stored. The US CLOUD Act allows US authorities to compel a US provider to hand over data, even when the servers are in Europe or in Switzerland. With a Swiss provider that has no US parent company and no US presence, the data stays under Swiss law, which protects it through the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Knowing which law applies to your data is the first step to controlling it.

Are these products only for large companies?

No. They are designed for SMEs and professionals who cannot afford an IT department, but cannot afford to be vulnerable either. The complexity stays behind a simple interface: if you can use email and a browser, you can use my products.
